Description
Guards Band, Buckingham Palace by James Lawrence Isherwood
Isherwood’s depictions of the marching bands at Buckingham Palace have long been one of the most coveted subject matters by the late Wigan artist. This particularly fine example demonstrates why they are so sought after and it’s special nature is reflected in the fact that it is featured in the book named after the artist produced by Stephen Eckersley including a photograph of Isherwood with the painting itself. Wonderful provenance for a wonderful example.
