A wonderful example of Isherwood’s popular figures paintings executed in a striking and strong orange and pink palette. The subjects exude character despite the minimalism of colour and imagery.
Originally purchased from the Isherwood family sale after the artist’s death, the painting is signed to the front and dated 1972, titled to the reverse and still bears it’s catalogue number and price sticker from the sale.
