3rd & 4th June
Come and join us this weekend for the opening of our new Northern Art Lounge which will showcase the best examples by what has become known as the Northern Art movement.
Headlined by the unmistakable L S Lowry, these wonderful artists recorded the evolution of the industrial North of England throughout the twentieth century into the modern and vibrant society that it is today. The works mark various elements of social history and the artworks have become increasingly popular as the decades have gone on.
Salford’s Geoffrey Key will be joining us on Sunday 4th from 12 – 2pm and a fabulous array of his oil and mixed media paintings will be on show alongside two of his rare and collectable bronze sculptures.
Also on show will be two fabulous original drawings from L S Lowry including one of his finest works on paper of Peel Park dating back almost 100 years. These will hang amongst an incredible array of his signed limited edition prints so there really is something for every Lowry lover.
A host of other famous northern artists are also on show from Lowry’s tutor Adolphe Valette to Helen Bradley, Liam Spencer and William Turner to name but a few. We do hope that you can join us over the weekend for a glass of Champagne and to toast the opening of the new and exciting Northern Art Lounge.
