Blog Week 4

The new year is well and truly swinging in the gallery this week with a whole host of new paintings having arrived and our first exhibition of 2023 with Barry Hilton just over a month away.  Barry has now completed the new works which will be arriving soon and promise to make a spectacular show.  Some of Barry’s classic landscapes will be in the show along with a selection of new style semi abstract paintings so we do hope that you will be able to join us from 7-9pm on Friday 3rd March.

New Works by Steven Townsend

Another one of our long standing landscape artists, Steven Townsend, has also completed new works that are on show in the gallery now.  Having made his name for incredible photo realism and animal studies, Steven is expressing his talents now on much larger scale Lake District paintings but still demonstrating his unbelievable talent for capturing fine detail.

Although many artists marvel at Steven’s ability to replicate nature’s beauty with such precision, many decades of painting in such a way have made it second nature for the award winning Burnley artist.  He has however found a new passion and even greater challenge in turning his hand to abstract painting.  Driven by the desire to push himself, learn new techniques and break new boundaries, he has embarked upon mastering this genre too.

A selection of both Steven’s Lake District masterpieces and new abstract paintings are on show in the gallery now so do call in and take a look at the breathtaking work of this Lancashire artist when you can.

Linda Charles – Pulp Re-Imagined

For the music lovers amongst you, this week we have a fabulous collection of low edition runs by Linda Charles, exploring famous bands and musicians with a strong sense of nostalgia and vintage evident in the works.  Generally from low editions of just 45, we are really fortunate to have edition number 1 of just 25 of the awesome ‘Don’t Luck Back in Anger’ edition.  Definitely one for a collector who loves rare editions and low numbers so don’t delay if you would love to own this amazing edition.

Northern Art Exhibition Coming Soon

We will be making some improvements to the gallery space in the coming weeks and upon completion, our next exhibition after Barry Hilton will be a fabulous collection of new northern art from some of our most popular artists.  With new works from the likes of L S Lowry, Isherwood and Geoffrey Key, we can’t wait to unveil them and let you see what we have been sourcing in recent months.
