Fabian Perez Exhibition
Last updated onGlobal art superstar Fabian Perez will be jetting into Hepplestone Fine Art on the evening of the 16th November to showcase his latest collection of works including original paintings and limited edition prints.
Fabian Perez was born in Argentina in 1967 and had what he has described himself as a difficult childhood. Fabian’s father owned illegal bordellos and nightclubs which had a lasting impact on his life and has heavily influenced his work today. His mother on the other hand was artistic and encouraged her sons early signs of artistic flair. Sadly Fabian lost his mother at the age of 16 and his father at 19 with many of the cool guys in his paintings reflecting the memory of his father.
Having spent a few years living as a gypsy after the death of his parents, Fabian sought direction and answers, a purpose in life which he found through his love of martial arts. Karate instructor Sensei Oscar Higa became a mentor and father figure who would help move his life into a more positive direction. Having lived as a nomad in Rio, often sleeping on park benches, he finally decided to follow Sensei Oscar to Italy where he lived and trained for seven years. It was in this period in a small town outside Venice called Padova, that his artistic career began. Moving and travelling frequently, Fabian eventually moved to Japan to train and teach Karate, and inspired by the Shodo he was influenced to combine figurative and abstract styles in developing his artwork.
Upon leaving Japan, Fabian finally settled in Los Angeles where his rise to artistic stardom really took off at pace upon being discovered there and sell out exhibitions followed. Now he works from his ranch in California and boasts an enviable who’s who list of collectors and admirers. Having painted portraits of the likes of Pope Francis and Lionel Messi, his paintings hang in the Hollywood homes of the likes of Rihanna and Arnold Schwarzenneger.
