Blog Week 20
Last updated onThis week has seen lots of exciting new paintings arrive in the gallery and will be topped off with a wonderful show of artworks from Alexander Millar this weekend.
Having sold Millar’s work for almost two decades, it is a great privilege to show his work again from 22nd May which will include a collection of limited edition prints and original drawings.
New Arrivals This Week
Along with the collection of Alexander Millar artworks this week, we have also acquired new original paintings from the likes of Rozanne Bell, Ruby Keller, David Renshaw and local Lytham artist Ken Roberts.
Summer Meadow is one of two large 43″ x 43″ original works by Roz Bell on show now, both imposing but also stunningly vibrant and uplifting.
We have also acquired a new original painting by David Renshaw this week from his ever popular Northern Romance series. As David’s work has shone brighter and brighter in the art world in recent years it has become increasingly difficult to acquire his paintings. We are therefore thrilled to have this new original available now on a first come first served basis.
Also uplifting and joyful are the paintings by another local painter, Tarleton artist Anne Blundell. Two new Lake District scenes are available now offering a quirky glimpse into the artist’s whimsical world. Combining the unique vision of the artist with a dash of local realism, they are a great blend that we can all lose ourselves in and relate to.
Continuing the local theme, 2019 winner of the Lancashire Life Landscape Artist of the Year Award, Ken Roberts, has also delivered new works into the gallery this week. Local beauty spots including Lytham Windmill, Blackpool seafront, Eddisford Bridge and Wrea Green have all had the Ken Roberts treatment and will prices at only £440 for framed originals, we do hope that you love them.
A little further afield for subject matter but still a local artist, we also have a gorgeous en plein air London scene by Croston born Michael Ashcroft just in the gallery.
Demonstrating the sensitivity to tone and subtle touch that have seen Michael Ashcroft accepted into the Royal Institute of Oil Painters along with the Manchester Academy of Fine Art, this is a gorgeous little painting that would grace any fine art collection.
