Blog Week 20Last updated on
Having scooped the title of UK Art Gallery of the Year last year, we were delighted once again to make the top three in this category, a great recognition of the loyalty of our fabulous customers and the level of service that we continually strive to offer. A big thank you goes out to the Guild for a great honour and a fabulous evening along with you, our incredible enthusiastic customers and friends for your continued support.
The Next Generation
Yesterday we were out and about again spreading the word about the arts by accepting the invitation to talk to the children of St Josephs Primary School in Wrightington ahead of their upcoming exhibition for Enterprise Week on Friday.
The children were a perfect and attentive audience, probing Giles with a whole host of questions about gallery life and coming up with some excellent ideas about holding exhibitions. Hopefully we have managed to tweek the interest of a couple of young budding artists and gallery owners.
Fabian Perez Paintings Start to Arrive
The preparations for the upcoming Fabian Perez visit are now underway with the first paintings starting to arrive. The first beautiful original painting by Fabian featuring Saba at the Bar arrived yesterday and will be followed in the coming weeks by many more ready for the artist’s visit on 17th June.
Invitations will be going out shortly so do make a note in your diary if you wish to meet this fabulous artist and don’t forget if you are looking for a specific limited edition or would like to invest in an original, contact us now to allow us to best find the perfect piece.
The Astronaut by Paul Oz
A stunning new limited edition print by Paul Oz has also come into stock this week to accompany the ‘Union Lewis’ edition featuring Lewis Hamilton which is already on show. The Astronaut edition features the late great Muhammad Ali and is stunningly hand embellished.
Paul Oz has been commissioned to complete portraits of many stars including Jenson Button and Sir Bradley Wiggins and is a master with such iconic figurative subject matter. The Astronaut is from an edition of only 25 so do call and take a look sooner rather than later if you would like to see this piece in the flesh.
Northern Lights series by David Renshaw
A new series of Northern Romance paintings by Southport’s David Renshaw have begun to emerge in recent weeks featuring Ted & Doris in a stunning Northern Lights setting.
The first of these new paintings sold within 24 hours of hitting the gallery a couple of weeks ago so we were delighted to be able to secure two new paintings this week also from this series. Both images are currently on show in the gallery and on our David Renshaw online gallery here so don’t miss out on these fabulous new original paintings.
New from Anne Blundell
A new original painting by local Lancashire artist Anne Blundell has also come into stock this week and is really unusual for this popular and talented local painter. Anne Blundell’s subject matter tends to feature either the Lake District or Cornish harbours and are often in a square format. Unusually, this new piece entitled Moonlit Harbour is a large landscape shaped painting and a real stunner. Full details can be found here but this really is one to be seen in person.
Belle Fleur by Frogman
And finally this week, Frogman has unveiled his annual flower frog sculpture entitled Belle Fleur which will be in stock in the coming weeks.
Featuring an amazing purple silver nitrate patina, Belle Fleur follows in the footsteps of previous flower frogs such as Iris and Daffodil and we are super excited to see it in person. Size and price details are available here and if you wish to pre order to ensure your copy, please do not hesitate.
Have a great week art lovers.
