Week 8 BlogLast updated on
Wow! What another hectic but fun packed week. Last Thursday we hosted the preview evening of our Barry Hilton exhibition continuing with the full exhibition over the weekend. We had a wide array of subject matter on show from contemporary landscape paintings to his early Galleon paintings and traditional street scenes. The exhibition was brilliantly attended by both local Hilton collectors as well as visitors from as far afield as Devon! What a great way to remind ourselves of how many loyal followers Barry Hilton has and how the paintings have continued to appreciate since we first started to showcase them over ten years ago.
A big thank you must go out to Barry Hilton for such an amazing selection of works and to everybody who came along to support Barry. Although the exhibition was a near sell out, we do still have a small number of paintings still available so do come along and take a look if you get chance.
Rare Editions from L S Lowry
Despite the excitement of the Hilton exhibition, we have still managed to clock up over 300 miles this week on the hunt for exciting new art, as well as rare older works. As we are constantly on the look out for great examples of L S Lowry’s signed limited editions, we were delighted this evening that a late night trip to visit a collector in Cheshire was not a wasted journey and topped off our travels nicely.
We have managed to secure two beautiful new examples including one of our most requested titles, Industrial Scene, in brilliant condition and ready for an enthusiastic collector as soon as it is framed. Accompanying ‘Industrial Scene’ is the amazing beachscape simply entitled ‘The Beach’ with the additional signed limited edition sketch ‘Deal’. As we have a waiting list of Lowry collectors for titles such as these, if you are looking to invest in a particular Lowry piece, do email us the details so that we can let you know as soon as new works are available.
Todd White Collection Now on Show
The new Todd White collection that we announced two weeks ago is now physically in the gallery also and available to view in person.
The imagery is so amazing in the flesh and really worth a visit but don’t delay if you would like to see them as the first piece sold as soon as it came out of the box and with some of the edition sizes as small as 50 worldwide, they won’t be around for long!
New from Gisella Ueberall
The first of the new abstract paintings by Gisella Ueberall are now framed and looking stunning in gloss white so do take a look on her artist page here or call in if you are looking for a splash of colour in your life.
Philip Gray Exhibition Paintings
Les has been kept very busy this week also with the first offerings of the Philip Gray exhibition which is on 17th March arriving. Seventeen paintings landed on Wednesday so as you can imagine, we are now full to the brim with new artwork and so excited to show them off with Philip Gray on St Patrick’s Day.
Please don’t miss out on the chance to meet this fascinating artist and if you are interested specifically in any of his subject matters, do let us know beforehand so that we can ensure that we find you just the right painting.
Hopefully next week will be a little more relaxing but probably not……..plenty of more amazing artwork coming your way!
