Week 12 BlogLast updated on
Having won the prestigious national title last year, it is a great honour to have made the final once again in 2017 and will excitedly keep you up to date when the eventual winner is announced in May. A big thank you goes out to all of our loyal customers, artists & suppliers for your continued support and to the Guild for promoting best practice in our wonderful industry.
James Lawrence Isherwood Exhibition
Our next exhibition will celebrate 100 years since the birth of the late Wigan artist James Lawrence Isherwood and runs over the weekend of 22nd-23rd April. We have been busily sourcing the final paintings for the exhibition this week with another fantastic ten original works arriving from an outstanding private collection on the South coast.
The new exhibition will offer a rare opportunity to purchase from the finest selection of Isherwood paintings on offer today with something for every collector, from the newest follower looking to start a collection to the most experienced collector looking to finesse their established collection.
If you own an Isherwood painting that you are interested to sell, we still have time to potentially include it in the exhibition so do contact us at the gallery without delay with the details.
On Our Travels – London Calling
We have clocked up the miles again this week sourcing new artwork for you with a trip to London viewing original Lowry paintings along with stunning Andy Warhol’s, Damien Hirst’s, Picasso’s and Dali’s.
The Northern art was the winner once again with four brilliant Lowry pieces heading back home to the North of England. Keep an eye on the website next week for these new Lowry editions, all of which are in exquisite condition from a one collector home – undoubtedly the best examples you will find on the market.
Reflections by Mackenzie Thorpe
The first limited edition prints from the latest Mackenzie Thorpe collection, Reflections, have also arrived this week and are stunning. Mackenzie has been collected for many years for his thought provoking and tender compositions in pastel and the latest editions are amongst my favourites.
Both Morning Snow and After the Storm are in the gallery to view now while stocks last so don’t delay and come along to take a look.
This week we are privileged to welcome some exciting new talent to our stable of artists including Irish abstract artist Simon Kenny and the wonderfully talented automotive painter Martin Taylor.
Simon Kenny’s large abstract works have quickly garnered an impressive following throughout the UK and beyond and when you see them in the flesh it is easy to see why. Impressive in scale and breathtaking in both colour palette and texture, Kenny’s work is truly a feast for the senses.
Matin Taylor’s work on the other hand is a masterclass in both precision and nostalgia. His two new arrivals this week include a beautiful vintage Jaguar along with a gorgeous 1950s Porsche 356. Martin’s work is on show in the gallery now and will also form part of an exhibition that we will be holding at Porsche Bolton in July. If you are interested in commissioning an automotive painting or attending this fantastic Porsche event amongst the amazing cars, do let us know.
Fabian Perez Exhibition Date
For the eagle eyed amongst you, you may have noticed a slight change in our exhibition schedule for the visit of Argentinian art sensation Fabian Perez. Fabian will now be joining us from 6-8pm on Saturday 17th June so a great opportunity to combine meeting this internationally collected artist with a great Saturday night out. The whole gallery will be devoted to Fabian’s atmospheric figurative works so why not book a table for dinner at a local restaurant, join Fabian for a glass of bubbles first and make a real night of it!
