The Last Tram To Stalybridge by William Turner

An original oil on board painting by the late Northern artist William Ralph Turner. Executed in 1980, this classic Turner subject matter shows the comings and going of the towns folk against the industrial backdrop and tram running through the town. Much like his contemporary L S Lowry, Turner reflects the Northern town so well, combining humour with the sense of hardship still etched in the demeanour of the figures.
