Long Meg & Shep by Peter Brook
Original oil on board painting by the late Yorkshire artist Peter Brook. Featuring a snowy Pennine landscape which Peter was so well known and widely collected for painting, this particular composition features a working collie dog which was so close to Peter’s heart.
A great friend of ‘One Man and His Dog’s’ Jim Cropper, a champion sheep dog handler, Shep was gifted to Peter Brook from Cropper.
‘Long Meg’ refers to the tallest of 69 stones in a fine stone circle in Cumbria known as ‘Long Meg and Her Daughters’.
Signed and titled ‘Long Meg & ‘Shep”.
