Nab from Glossop by Geoffrey Key Original Painting
A rare and significant landscape painting by Salford artist Geoffrey Key. The Nab from Glossop II is an important piece in the story of the development of Geoffrey’s distinctive style. The year spent repeating the same view of the Nab helped dispel previous influences and move his approach to painting, which becomes very evident in his subsequent works. This is an early example from the period making this painting one of the foundations upon which following works were laid.
Framed in a sympathetic choice of frame, the painting is signed to the front and dated 1963. Titled to the reverse with the artist’s database reference number.
