Robert Lenkiewicz 1941-2002
Lenkiewicz’ parents set up a small hotel where his early memories were of the often elderly and distressed, sometimes demented people who made their home at the hotel. These memories formed the basis of many of his artistic themes throughout his life, contributing to an intriguing and often disturbing array of subject matter.
Having had is immense talent spotted at school, Lenkiewicz he went to St. Martins in London and then to The Royal Academy School. His career took many twists and turns including an episode where he faked his own death and continued to amaze and intrigue until his actual death in 2002.
