Lhouette
Lhouette, the artistic pseudonym of Ciarán Robinson, is a prominent British urban pop artist recognized for his vibrant and layered artworks. While relatively young in the art world, Lhouette has garnered significant attention for his unique style and captivating use of mixed media.
Born in Luton in 1985, Lhouette demonstrated artistic talent from a young age. Despite initial encouragement to pursue art, he embarked on a different path, joining the Royal Navy at 17. His travels across 21 countries during his service exposed him to diverse cultures and perspectives, which would later influence his artistic expression.
After leaving the military, Lhouette returned to his artistic roots, immersing himself in London's dynamic urban art scene. He honed his skills through self-study and collaboration, experimenting with various mediums and techniques. In 2012, he established his studio and adopted the moniker "Lhouette," marking the beginning of his artistic journey.
Lhouette's art is characterized by its bold colors, intricate collages, and recurring motif of silhouetted figures. He draws inspiration from pop culture, fashion, and street art, weaving these elements into visually striking and thought-provoking pieces. His meticulous process involves layering paint, collage elements, and embellishments like resin, diamond dust, and metallic gilding, resulting in artworks that are both visually captivating and texturally rich.
Lhouette's talent has not gone unnoticed. He has gained representation from prestigious galleries across the UK and held numerous successful solo exhibitions. His artworks are sought after by collectors and have been featured in various publications. Lhouette's contributions to the urban pop art scene have earned him recognition as one of the UK's leading figures in this artistic movement.
