January is off to a start
Last updated onChristmas already feels to be a distant memory and the new year is well under way with exciting new paintings and sculpture arriving every week. We have a host of incredible exhibitions and events planned to celebrate our twentieth year in the art business including solo exhibitions from the likes of Sherree Valentine Daines and Lucy Manfredi amongst others. Stay tuned and make sure you are following us on our social media channels to keep up to date with everything that’s going on.
Introducing Reg Gardner
The first showcase of the year is the launch of Reg Gardner at the Wilmslow gallery from 18th – 31st January. We are thrilled to have signed such a well known stalwart of the northern art scene who has painted and exhibited alongside the very greatest in the field over many decades.
One Man and His Dog, Oil on Canvas by Reg Gardner, £2350
Born in 1948, Reg still lives in Manchester which has provided the backdrop to his work as he has recorded the changing face of the city over the years. We will have a wonderful collection of his original oil paintings on show in Wilmslow for the remainder of January and know that Reg will greatly appreciate each and every collector who is able to come along and take a look. The exhibition will also be accompanied by some rare video footage and interviews with Reg which will be shared via our social media starting this month. If you are not already following us on Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube, do follow and subscribe now.
Rochdale Winter, Oil on Canvas by Reg Gardner, £1095
Do call into the Wilmslow gallery during January to view the full selection on show.
Sculpture Collection by Mackenzie Thorpe
This week we have also taken delivery of a wonderful collection of sculptures by the eternally popular Mackenzie Thorpe. Our long standing collectors will know that Mackenzie was one of the very first artists that we represented when we very first opened twenty years ago and it is a delight to see his work going from strength to strength.
The sculptures cover a variety of his motifs including the uplifting Shepherd leading his flock from danger in the stunning and thought provoking ‘The Good Shepherd’ to his iconic hooded child figure in ‘Stronger Together’, a wonderful story of companionship and an breathtaking Valentines Day pick.
The third piece from Mackenzie is ‘The Fastest’, a piece produced to celebrate the time that Mackenzie Thorpe was selected as the official artist for the Tour De Yorkshire and was the first ever sculpture to be included as part of the tour collection.
All of the sculptures can be ordered online and despatched worldwide or collected from the galleries.
New from Lucy Manfredi
