Supporting the Inspire Youth Zone Chorley and Wigan Youth Zone
‘Three Kilos of Clay, Two Skilled Hands, Thousands of Lives Transformed’
This week we wanted to highlight a charitable art related activity aiming to raise funds to directly benefit the Inspire Youth Zone in Chorley and Wigan Youth Zone. FiredUp4 is a creative campaign championed by Kate Malone MBE, which aims to provide young people from across the OnSide network with new and exciting art opportunities by raising funds to setup pottery studios in the two Youth Zones.
Kate Malone MBE is best placed to explain further. ‘I invited 31 of the UK’s leading ceramic artists to join me in donating their artwork for auction, with the aim of raising funds to create pottery studios at two OnSide Youth Zones. Every artist involved in this project understands the importance of providing opportunities for young people, and the therapeutic benefits that working with clay can bring’.
‘I invite you to take a look at the pieces that are available for auction, sincere care and passion have been keenly given by many artists of our clay community. This is a winning situation, purchase and have a beautiful piece of art at the same time as helping us build these workshops and provide opportunity’.
The details of the wonderful works of art in the auction are available on the FiredUp4 website here so do take a look and support such wonderful local facitilities and the artists of the future.
