Moorings at the Boathouse by Erich Paulsen
For those unfortunate enough to have not seen Erich Paulsen’s artwork in the flesh, his heavily textured palette knife work really does have to be seen to be believed. The German born artist is a master at the technique, using heavy oil work to create beautiful landscape and seascape paintings, often depicting European coastal scenes and boats.
Erich Paulsen was born in a village outside Berlin in 1932 and later settled in the safety of Hamburg in the post war years. Having studied at Meisterschule fur Malerei in Berlin, Erich Paulsen continued his artistic education throughout Europe including Italy, France and Spain. Paulsen’s original paintings are now collected worldwide having exhibited extensively throughout Europe and the United States including New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
