Christmas is coming fast and we are loving sharing a glass of mulled wine with our regular gallery visitors and also busy packing and despatching paintings around the UK and beyond in time for Santa.  We have new works arriving every week so do keep an eye on the social media channels and website to see what is available before Christmas.  Below we have highlighted a few new additions along with some interesting artist updates including Lawrence Isherwood’s recent feature on the Antiques Roadshow.

New from Chris Chapman – Pre Orders Now Being Taken

Chris Chapman’s latest limited edition print has been unveiled this week and will be in stock in time for Christmas. In this latest composition, Chris pays homage to Vincent Van Gogh with his humourous ‘Vincent Van Ear Off’ edition from a limited edition run of just 35 examples.  Priced at just £575 framed, you can pre order your copy now with the first pieces available from next week.

Lucy Manfredi in the News

Last month we announced that we were thrilled to have signed the talented Stockport artist Lucy Manfredi to our stable of amazing artists.  The response to Lucy’s work has been truly incredible with a dozen paintings finding homes in the first month and going to collectors throughout the UK and as far afield as the USA.

Lucy’s launch has coincided with features in the likes of Cheshire Life magazine and Live Preston and Ribble Valley magazines.  Do try and pick up a copy or call into the gallery to find out more about this exciting artist and why her light is burning so brightly.

We have a number of fabulous paintings by Lucy available in the galleries and on the website now which make wonderful Christmas gifts and are sure to bring a smile to the face of any lucky recipient.

Rare Editions from Gary Benfield

Unbelievably this week we have been fortunate to acquire two incredibly rare limited edition prints by the talented wildlife and figurative artist Gary Benfield.  Featuring two magnificent equine subjects, Free Spirit I & II are two of Gary’s most popular editions and we currently have just one copy of each available to order on the website or view in Wilmslow.

Award Winning Michael Ashcroft

Our long standing collectors will know that we have had a long standing affiliation with Croston born artist Michael Ashcroft and we are delighted to congratulate Michael on a recent award at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in London.

Michael was awarded the Darlington Crystal Chalice by the ROI at the Mall Galleries in London last week, a well deserved recognition of his exceptional talent.

We currently have a number of his en plein air local landscape paintings and popular urban scenes currently available in the gallery so do take a look and support this wonderful local talent.

New Originals from Philip Gray

Philip Gray remains a favourite amongst our collectors and is particularly well followed for his dramatic mountainscape paintings.   This week we have two new original oils in the gallery along with a selection of additional mountain and seascape paintings including this momunmental scale oil. A truly stunning painting.

Isherwood on TV

Did you catch the fabulous original painting by Lawrence Isherwood on the Antiques Roadshow last weekend?  We were pleased to see a Wigan scene by Isherwood appear on the roadshow last week brought in by a former Cambridge University studen

t who bought it many decades ago when Isherwood exhibited at the University.

The roadshow expert Frances Christie waxed lyrical about Isherwood’s unique talent which set him apart from his contemporaries such as Lowry and it was great to see his work featured.  The coverage has resulted in a surge in enquiries about his work and we are pleased that it has also coincided with a new collection of works arriving in the gallery.  The new works will be on show before Christmas with a sneak preview of just a couple available below.
