Blog Week 15
With our ‘Country Life’ exhibition well under way, we have been busily sending some beautiful paintings on their way to new homes from the likes of debutant artists such as Stephen Park along with old favourites like Barry Hilton. With local artists such as Michael Ashcroft also calling in to view the exhibition and deliver new works, it has been a really busy and enjoyable week.
As quickly as they have been going off the walls, we have been furiously trying to replace them with new and exciting works. Such is the case with Barry Hilton whose originals sold out over the weekend prompting a frantic search for new original works bearing in mind his upcoming exhibition at the gallery in June. Fortunately we were able to secure his very latest original oil painting which depicts a landscape close to the gallery in Standish and will be followed in the next couple of weeks by two more stunning examples.
Standish Wheat Fields pictured here is hanging proudly in the gallery now and can be viewed online by clicking here but certainly won’t be around for long.
Cautionary Tales by Todd White
Todd White has been a favourite this week with the launch of his latest collection, ‘Cautionary Tales’. The collection of limited edition prints comprising of two stunning female giclee editions along with an amazing group piece entitled ‘Suited for War’. ‘Suited for War’ is perfect for those in the corporate world ready for the battle of business and is from a worldwide edition of only 135 as are the other two.
The response has been staggering for all three pieces with ‘Venice’ already temporarily selling out in the gallery. Do not fear though, ‘Venice’ will be back in stock in the next couple of weeks and both ‘Tainted Love’ and ‘Suited for War’ are still on show at the time of writing. View full details of the new Todd White limited edition prints here.
In addition to the three new limited edition prints, we have also acquired two previously sold out editions which have become incredibly sought after since their first publication in 2010.
Both slightly smaller than his more recent limited edition prints, ‘Sleep with Me’ and ‘Furious Desires’ were both from embellished canvas editions of just 125 each and offer a rare opportunity to acquire such pieces. Please note however that as publisher sold out editions, we only have one copy of each available on a first come first served basis.
Northern Art has continued to be a strong theme in the gallery in the last week or so with pieces coming and going quickly from James Lawrence Isherwood along with L S Lowry being shipped across the world as far afield as Canada and Australia. New works from Isherwood will be listed on the website next week and a great selection of original paintings also on show by the late William Ralph Turner.
