Blog Week 14
Last updated onJust Arrived and Looking for New Homes
Despite all the global chaos, an exciting box has just arrived with us from the USA and peeping inside, it was two very special Frogman bronzes, Saxon and Guardian.
Saxon is the third installment from Frogman’s recent baby owl series and is absolutely gorgeous. Cast from an edition of 500 and priced at just £512, we are thrilled to have managed to get our hands on this gorgeous little guy at present. With the foundry currently closed in the USA and the restrictions on movement and travel, we are not certain when we will be able to acquire anymore.
The second new arrival is even rarer and is the stunning ‘Guardian‘. As an edition variation of the popular ‘Prince Charming’ toad sculpture, ‘Guardian’ is from an edition of only 50 worldwide and is finished in the same silver patina as the sold out owl ‘Alfie’. If you already have an ‘Alfie’ or just favour the rarer editions, this chunky little chap is a must.
The number of ‘Guardian’ sculptures is strictly limited as the global edition was only 50 so do click on now or call the gallery if you would like to acquire one.
Also New in This Week
As well as these gorgeous bronzes, we have also posted other new arrivals on the website this week. One of those fabulous additions is a late entry to our Barry Hilton exhibition entitled ‘Standish Drain Ditch‘.
Oil on Canvas, £2450, available to order now
We have also acquired two rare original paintings from the late Lawrence Isherwood this week, both gifted to the previous owner by Isherwood himself. Owned by a shopkeeper friend of Isherwood’s, the first of the two paintings is an incredibly rare Tiger painting, one of only a handful ever seen by the artist. Painted in 1974, the painting was dedicated on the reverse in 1981 to ‘Lynn’ and is a truly arresting piece. Full details are available on the website now along with the other painting, a waterscape with boats of Torquay.
Speaking of rare items, we have also just taken in a sold out limited edition print by Sherree Valentine Daines which has become a very difficult little piece to acquire. Originally published from a signed edition run of just 195, this piece is one of Sherree’s most endearing images and I am sure there will be a collector who has had it on their wish list for a long time. It is beautifully framed in the official frame with certficate of authenticity and is available to order online now at £425.
The final piece just added to the website this week is an uplifting lakeland scene from Anne Blundell. We may all be cooped up at home at the moment but Anne’s pieces allow a little escape, a chance for the mind to wander and appreciate our world around us.
