A J CALLANBorn in Glasgow in 1958, AJ Callan has spent most of his life in the Yorkshire Pennines. A passion for art soon manifested itself at school. Five years studying art and design led to a successful career in creative work.
After 27 years in the world of design and advertising he decided he needed to follow his dream of being a full time artist. So he took a leap into the unknown and left it all behind him-a decision he has never regretted.
Within months, AJ Callan was selling his unique piggy bank collection around the world through the galleries of the art publisher Washington Green.
But never being one to sit still, AJ Callan has continued to expand his portfolio of work, all of which can now be found in galleries and private collections throughout the UK.
AJ Callan uses both pastels on paper and oils on canvas. These are his favourites, though he has been known to work in acrylics, water colours and even indulged in the odd piece of sculpture!
