Beatles - A Mad Day Out With Tom Murray - Octber 2007

Tom Murray is a widely acclaimed photographer whose work encompasses a broad range of subjects, including many international celebrities and iconic figures.  Most notably Tom is renowned for his photography of The Beatles, from the now legendary Mad Day Out photoshoot around London in July 1968. His portraits of the Fab Four are considered as some of the most important images of the group.

In the summer of 1968, Tom Murray was asked by a colleague to assist in a day long photoshoot capturing a band. Tom arrived at the pre arranged location, unaware of who the band were going to be, only to hear Lady Madonna playing from inside the room. Upon entering, Paul McCartney was playing the piano, Ringo and George Harrison were drinking tea, and John Lennon was sat in the corner with Yoko Ono. Tom asked, "Is this the band?".

Amazingly, as Tom Murray was not the lead photographer on the day, he printed the photographs and placed them in a draw. Almost 40 years later, the previously unseen images have been valued by Christies at $2.3 million and have now been released for the first time as limited edition prints of only 195.

The first eight images were unveiled at the gallery on Saturday 20th October along with many new releases by our other leading artists.  A further two Tom Murray Beatles collections will be released during 2008 which will conclude the "Mad Day Out" collection.

TODD WHITE - Personal Appearance & Exhibition -  29th March 2007 - 1st April 2007

Another first from Hepplestone Fine Art!  Todd White kicked off his first ever UK gallery tour with us on the evening of 29th March where his full collection of limited edition prints and several originals were exhibited.

Lucky collectors got to meet Todd in person and have him sketch an original caricature of themselves on the back of their pieces - or have a picture of Sponge Bob drawn for those who so wished!

Many thanks to Todd for giving us and all of his collectors such a great evening and some fabulous pieces to remember him by.

A selection of exclusive tour limited editions are still available with signed "Best Wishes" dedications from Todd White.  Demand for Todd White originals was very strong during the exhibition and is set to remain so with availability continuing to be incredibly limited.  Please contact the gallery for up to date availability.

About Todd White

Once a tennis instructor, White was giving a lesson in San Antonio, TX, when one of his student's sons, who worked for Warner Bros., happened to be visiting and saw him drawing.

"He took my sketches back to L.A. and I was offered my first job as a cleanup artist on 'Tiny Toons Adventures,'" he says. "The year was 1989. A thousand years later, or 1994, I became the lead character designer on 'SpongeBob SquarePants,'" a position White held until 2000.

Although he started with "Toons," White's paintings of the nightlife scenes with their over-the-top characters have made him a favorite with Hollywood art buyers, among them Hugh Hefner, Vin Diesel and Eric McCormick.

Hands are a focal point for White, reflecting the subject's state of mind as much as any body language or facial expression. "Everyone's hands are full of personality," he surmises. "Take Al Pacino--without his hands, he's not nearly as interesting to watch."

TODD WHITE - Exhibition - September 2006

To celebrate the release of Todd White's latest collection we held an exhibition of his new and previous work.  We were also proud to present some rare canvas editions, remarques and two of the first originals available in the UK.

Demand for Todd's original works has been very strong particularly since two of the largest investment firms in the US recommended that their clients buy his original art for their portfolios because of the works' investment value.  Congratulations to the lucky collector that got their hands on one of the first and only Todd White originals in the country prior to him being the official artist for the 2007 Grammy Awards.

The exhibition opened on the 2nd September and ran through to the 16th September.  Many of Todd's latest collection along with some older images are still available, please see the Todd White page or contact the gallery for further information.

Please email us with your contact details if you wish to be added to the invite list for future events.
